Congratulations to your son on such a successful admissions cycle.

Not sure about the strength of the individual programs/departments, but purely from an IB recruiting standpoint:

Harvard

Stanford/Princeton

Yale

Harvard is tops bar none. Not sure about the effect of the West Coast dynamic, but Stanford is certainly very well-regarded for IB. I’m inclined to think that S students place more into the SF/LA/Menlo Park offices, with Princeton having more representation in New York only due to location. Yale, though a strong target, is the weakest out of the schools mentioned above.

PureAdvisory,
Thank you vey much. I think my son will chose between Princeton and Harvard as undergraduate, and will go to Stanford as graduate if he can get in a few years later.
Thank you again!

Just to add to what PA said, while Harvard really will take you anywhere, the different locations recruited by Princeton and Stanford will usually put you in different IB tracks.

The west coast generally has stronger Technology and Energy groups, as well as more venture capital and technology corporate finance, while the East Coast is good for everything else.

Good luck with your son’s decision!
