Would be an undergraduate transfer for Japanese and Russian.
Graduated from Texas at Arlington with Business, Spanish and certificate in translation.
Live and was born in Texas.
Went to high school in Louisiana.
Sister graduated from Texas.
Father and uncle graduated from Oklahoma.
In-state tuition for Arkansas and Texas.

Which Texas?

How would you be an undergrad and get in-state tuition in two states? You would be independent and only a resident of one state having another UG degree.

@“Erin’s Dad” Texas residents I think actually get in-state tuition at the University of Arkansas for undergrad.

Good to know.

Texas…as in University of Texas?

$26,500 per year and they offer very little merit aid. Is that in your budget?

Oklahoma would be OOS tuition and since you are not a freshman = very little merit aid if any.

Ark if in state tuition.

Here’s a handy calculator that you can run the numbers through: http://www.finaid.org/calculators/awardletteradvanced.phtml

@Erin’s Dad - Common reasons for qualifying for in-state rates in two states include having parents who live in two different states, living in an adjacent state that has a tuition agreement (sometimes for only a limited number of majors), and living in an adjacent county in the next state. Not every public college/university offers this, but some do.

This student already has a degree. Assuming it is a bachelors, where the two parents live is now immaterial.

Transfers generally don’t get much aid. What’s your net cost at these schools? Are finances a consideration?

Thanks everyone! Sorry, I didn’t know there were responses.
Yes, I have a degree already and qualify as a transfer. The cost of these schools is not an issue at all!
I picked these schools simply based on where I would be comfortable and have fun.
Arkansas offered a scholarship since I’m above 3.3 gpa and live in a border state.
University of Texas at Austin would offer in-state tuition.
I think my top 3 are Texas (Austin), Georgia (Athens) and Ohio State (Columbus).
If those 3 don’t accept me, I’ll decide amongst Oklahoma (Norman), Tennessee (Knoxville), Kansas (Lawrence) and Arizona State (Tempe).
Arkansas would only offer what I want as minors so that probably won’t work.

Is that a Bachelor’s degree? Or Associates?

Bachelor’s of Business Administration

Then you wouldn’t be a transfer. You’d be pursuing a second degree. You need to check with all your school options to see if they accept second degree students. You also need to check to see if you are eligible for aid at all.

I’ve been accepted by Arkansas, Kansas and Tennessee as a transfer. The requirements are enough credits and gpa. Some universities may specify that you apply as a post baccalaureate but not all.
