Which of these colleges should I take off my list?

I'm a senior in high school and an Asian California resident living in the San Joaquin valley. I think I have WAY too many colleges I'm applying to, so I need some input. I want to major in chemistry and hopefully go into medicine. My college list in order of my most to least favorite is:

Stanford, Cornell, WUSTL, JHU, Emory, MIT, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, USC, Tulane University, U of Rochester, U of Pacific

I'm thinking of taking out MIT just because it's mostly focused on engineering/math, while another university like say JHU is focused more on biosciences.

Should I remove some colleges, and if so, which ones?

M - 770
W - 690

SAT II:

I don’t like discouraging people from applying to any schools but, since you asked, I would take Stanford and MIT off your list. That leaves your 2nd choice (Cornell) which is still a reach but your chances are somewhat more realistic given your stats and resume. I don’t think applying to 13 schools is that far from the norm, however, particularly since 3 of the schools on your list are UC’s.

I applied to about 18 schools and I’m fine. Nothing wrong with 13 schools.

But yeah you already have JHU, WUSTL, and Rochester. Excellent schools for med especially JHU and WUSTL so I don’t see MIT as being a necessity.

I appreciate your guys’s opinions, I understand a few of the schools i mentioned are reaches.

I’d like to hear more opinions, however. >< bump!!!

ummm well if you had to take off MIT Stanford and either ucsd or usc

I wouldn’t live in Rochester if someone paid me.

Take out MIT.

Wait can you also say why I should take off MIT? I don’t want to remove it just because I suggested it…

Don’t take anything out. Apply to all of them.

UCSD, it’s boring and you probably won’t end up going there anyway.

I would take out Berkeley. I’m planning on going in the same direction (long-term), except I want to major in Biology. I was also considering applying to Berkeley, but decided against it because schools like UCLA and USC are much better when it comes to the medical field. USC even has a program in which you can be guaranteed acceptance into their medical school as an undergraduate freshman, and start your graduate studies as an undergrad. I suggest you look into it.

I can’t take out any UCs since I’ve already applied to them. But WHY do you guys think that I should take out MIT?? Most of you say to remove it but have nothing to support your reasoning. please verify.

BUMPPP PLZ ANSWER ^. MIT is still currently on my list. I need reasons to take it off.

Because…
A. You wanted to take some schools off.
B. You probably won’t get in.
C. They don’t use the common app, **** em.
D. Their app is a pain in the ass to fill out.
