Which of these colleges would be best for biomedical/bioengineering undergrad?

University of Utah, University of Minnesota, Arizona State University, or Drexel.

anyone? Sorry for bumping, but it’s been a few days, and this is already on the 3rd page with no replies.

Never heard of those school for biomedical… john hopkins, Georgia Tech, UCSD, and on… if they are tier2… not worth going.

._. I’m not going to just not go to college because I wouldn’t be going to one of the top schools, there’s more to colleges than rankings.

Did you know that with just B.S. degree with biomedical engineer, you will not likely get a job in this field? Its best for you to go to great undergraduate ranking school to get into top graduate school ranking school. Those school you listed, you have slim chance to get into graduate school. I am telling you straight fact. Major something different if you have only those three no name school for biomedical engineer program.

I already know everything you said. Still doesn’t answer my question.

University of Utah would be my choice if I were you. But wouldn’t go into Biomedical Engineer since you will not likely get a job with just B.S.

I checked out, and Minnesota seems good, they provide rigorous education and I beg to differ but there are loads of medicine, engineering firms who would like to hire bio-med engineers.
If I were you, I would enroll in Minnesota. Then Drexel Univ, a good choice, U Utah and then Arizona.

Biomedical engineering is predicted to be one of the fasted growing careers in the future, expecting an employment growth of 72% ([Engineers](http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos027.htm#outlook)). Because of this, contradictory to the general consensus on CC, I don’t believe a graduate degree will be necessary for a job (although it can’t hurt). And CSmajor5, many people simply go to their state university for engineering studies. Are you saying that people in Utah, Arizona, or Minnesota can’t become biomedical engineers because they’re schools are “not worth going”? The elitist attitude on CC is starting to irritate me beyond belief. And btw, University of Minnesota is ranked 20th and Utah 70th for overall engineering (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/engineering-majors/382751-usnews-2008-engineering-ranking-compilation.html</a>), when you consider that theres probably around 1000 engineering schools in the country, those are not bad rankings at all.

Oh yes and Drexel is 57 and I couldn’t find Arizona State on that list. And personally, I would choose Minnesota because 1. Its a new department in a solid engineering school meaning that there would be many research opportunities. and 2. Its fairly cheap if you’re OOS, which I’m assuming you are.
