I’m looking at LACS that would give good merit for strong stats, but not sure how to figure out which of these are strong in CS. Looking in the mid-Atlantic states through Ohio.
Should any of these be cut from the list of possibles for a likely CS major seeking a big merit award? I’ve seen Denison on a couple of lists of LACs good in CS, so that seems like one to keep for sure, but not sure about the others.
Denison
Ohio Wesleyan
Juniata
St. Mary’s College of Maryland
Goucher
Wooster
McDaniel
Ursinus
Thanks!
I believe @ucbalumnus has aggregated some data on CS offerings from various LACs.
http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/math-computer-science-majors/1814245-computer-science-at-some-smaller-schools-including-liberal-arts-colleges.html is the thread, but you should check catalogs and schedules on your own because the list is a few years old. But you can use it to get an idea of what to look for in the upper level CS offerings.
You may also want to investigate if any of them have issues with overflowing CS courses or majors.
Hmm, based on this, I think maybe drop Ursinus and add Allegheny. Not sure about Wooster and McDaniel (seem to have the necessary courses, but fewer than others like Denison).
