Which of these offer need-blind aid for int'l students?

Which of these offer need-blind aid for international students?

I've got this list of colleges and I'm having a hard time searching all their websites. Can anyone help me out? I know there is a topic on this but it dates of 2006.

Boston College
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
U. Chicago
U. Penn
Stanford
Northwestern U.
Georgetown
Columbia
Williams
Duke

These schools are need-blind for internationals:

Dartmouth College, Harvard University, MIT, Princeton University, Williams College, Yale University, and Amherst College

However, just because a college is not need-blind for internationals does not mean they won’t accept international students with need and meet that need. It will depend on how much they want you.

There is no such thing as need blind aid. Some schools are need blind for admissions, meaning they do not take financial need into account when making decisions about admissions (admissions people will often not even know your financial situation). But aid, other than some merit aid at some schools, aid is based on whether you have need or not - aid is not need blind.

For instance Harvard is need blind for admissions. If they admit you they then promise to meet your full need. They do not offer any merit money so any aid they offer is based on need. If you have no ‘need’ you will get no aid.

Some schools are need blind for admissions but do not promise to meet full need. They may admit a student but may not provide them with enough aid to attend the school. Other schools are not need blind so may take into account whether you have need when making admissions decisions.

But need blind aid? No such thing.

*But need blind aid? No such thing. *

Very true.

I think he did mean need blind for admissions.

However, just because a school is “need blind” for admissions DOES NOT mean that it meets need and will give you the aid you need. I can think of many schools that admit just by stats - they don’t care what your finances are - but then they’ll give you a lousy FA package when you apply for aid.

Bruno…how much can your parents pay each year for your education?

All of the schools on your list are reaches, high reaches, and super reaches. What are your stats?

I don’t think BC and Georgetown are “need blind” for admissions for int’ls (and may not be for residents either).
