Which of these schools do I realistically have a chance at?

So I just got rejected from Emory today, and I feel like I’m not going to get accepted anywhere. So please chance me at the following schools: UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCI, USC, Boston College, NYU, UDUB, Grinnell College, Colby College, and Notre Dame.

GPA:
UW: 3.76 (there’s a heavy upwards trend)
UW: Around 3.9 without freshman year
W: My school doesn’t weight
Rank: My school also doesn’t rank

SAT:
One sitting: 1440(M:720 CR:720 Essay: 17)
Superscored: 1460(M:740 CR:720 Essay:21)

AP Courseload: I go to a small private Christian school so there aren’t many AP classes, I’ve taken APUSH, which is the only one offered apart from senior year.

Senior Year Courseload: AP Calc AB, AP Physics I, AP Gov, C.C English, Spanish IV, Anatomy and Physiology( I took all the AP courses I could take)

EC’s: Class Officer(11th grade), ASB Vice President(12th grade), NHS(11-12th, Treasurer for 12th grade), Evergreen Boys State, Founded Bodybuilding Club(11th-12th grade Vice President)

Volunteering: A week long missions trip which I’m going on again this year, and also little volunteering activities around my school

Awards: Nothing special besides school honor rolls and such.

Income Bracket: >300,000
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Hooks: First-gen and first one in family to go to college

Thanks in advance~

Expectations:

UCLA: Waitlisted
UCB: Waitlisted
UCSD: Accepted
UCI: Accepted
USC: Rejected
Boston College: Accepted
NYU: Accepted
UDUB: Accepted
Grinnell College: Waitlisted/Rejected
Colby College: Accepted
Notre Dame: Rejected

I have to say that your weaknesses are your course load and ECs. I understand that the work load is not something you can control, so good job taking all the AP courses you can take; hopefully this might help you. Your UW GPA is around the average of what these universities are looking for. What’s your weighted GPA? I think your SAT lifts the rest of your application, but you’re still below Notre Dame’s average, for example.

Your ECs are well below average when it comes to the universities you mentioned. If you can think of anything to add here that would be great.

Try to work extra hard on your essays and keep that upward trend going when it comes to your GPA. If you do that, you’d have a realistic shot at most of the universities you mentioned.

Best of luck!

your parents didnt go to college and make >300000?? impressive!

anyway your ecs are definitely your weakness, I agree with jinxorchestra. schools will recognize you took the hardest possible courseload, so don’t worry about that. SAT/GPA great but not outstanding, and you’re an ORM which doesn’t help

UCLA - reject
UCB - reject
UCSD - accept
UCI - accept
USC - not sure
Boston College - waitlist
NYU - reject
UDUB - not sure
Grinnell College - not sure
Colby College - accept
Notre Dame - reject

what major?

In-state or OOS for UCs? If OOS the weighted UC GPA would be different.

I’m applying for biology or chemistry major, I also work about 20 hours a week for half the year. I’m from Washington. Yeah my parents do stocks and real estate.

You will need to calculate your UC GPA. Weighting is for AP/IB classes only and not school designated honors from 10th-11th grade.

UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
OOS applicants only get the extra honors points in the calculation for AP/IB or DE courses taken 10-11th grade.

Post Capped weighted and Fully weighted UC GPA.

My weighted GPA is like a 3.82 without first semester of senior year. I got A’s both semesters while in APUSH, and I believe I have a 4.2 weighted for first semester of senior year.

UC’s do not consider Senior grades so your UC GPA capped weighted is 3.82?

According to that website, my UC GPA capped weighted is a 4.22(UW is a 3.97), but I also included my Concurrent credit courses as honors courses; they’re dual credit courses taken from universities that partnered up with my school.

You look like a qualified applicant for all the UC’s and USC with your UW GPA/UC GPA and test scores. UCLA/USC and UCB are always tough but you stand a decent chance nonetheless. Your EC’s as noted by other posters are weak so hopefully you have some outstanding essays to boost your chances. First Generation can help.

UCI: Match
UCSD: Match-High Match
UCLA/UCB: Low Reach

Where are your safety schools?

Freshman admit rate for UC GPA of 4.20 or higher:
UCB: 46%

UCLA: 53%

UCSD: 88%

UCI: 97%

Nevermind, I just read more on UC’s website, they don’t calculate school honor courses as an honors course for OOS students. 4.03 for Weighted and capped

I didn’t post my safety schools, I applied to UCSC and a small LAC which I already got accepted at

Your chances drop significantly just based on your UC GPA:

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:

UCB: 12%
UCLA: 14%
UCSD: 39%
UCI: 57%

I still think UCI will be a Match, but the rest would be in the Low Reach-Reach category. Hopefully you can prove me wrong.

Good Luck.

Thanks for chancing me

Hey, I got into Grinnell on an early RD acceptance. Your stats and ECs are fine and your resume on here looks better than mine (you can look bsck into my profile where I posted it on a questbridge thread). What matters is the impact of your extracurriculars, your LORs, and your essays

Okay, thanks for replying, I’m wondering if you applied for early action or early decision?

@Poorqs Neither. I applied regular decision, they just accepted me early. Kind of like a likely letter but more official.

Oh alright thanks a lot
