Out of these schools which one of these is hardest to get into w/ aid?

Penn
Cornell
Columbia

Just wondering. Which one is hard to get in w/ aid. My EFC is around 20k. Also, will coming from a pretty underrepresented country help?

I'd say Columbia...I've seen several ppl get into those schools and Columbia is pretty stingy with aid for transfers for even domestic students. I dunno which is best, but Cornell and Penn are both good. I think Cornell says if you're in Canada/Mexico, they consider you along with US applicants for financial aid. But if you're out of that group, aid is extremely competitive. I dunno about Penn.

Cornell is the hardest with aid if you are looking for freshmen admission.

ooop sorry i'm always thinking in terms of transfer...it the case of freshmen, i'm not really sure.

So Cornell is probably the worst... I was expecting that. What about between Penn and Columbia? I've heard that Penn is pretty good if you apply ED... however, I'm sure Columbia is richer (isn't it?).

Being "richer" doesn't mean the school offers more aid to its students.

I applied to Penn ED asking for aid and they kept insinuating through their letters that I should consider paying in full if I have the money since they have a 'drought' in aid for internationals or something!! I was deferred and later withdrew after gettin in elsewhere ED2.

However, Penn will give you enough aid if you are highly deserving. Can't say the same for certain for the other two.

I think all are hard to get in with aid... though Cornell is probably a runaway 'winner' in that aspect. It's hard to decide between Columbia and Penn though, but my gut feeling is that it wld be easier at Penn since it's easier to get into Penn anyway.

cornell is probably the hardest if you need aid. columbia is hard too, although i'd say your chances are much higher. penn is a great school, i love that they treat intls well - easiest to get into with aid, so good luck with that.
