I understand the Bama/Auburn schism. I lived in Montgomery and my roommate was always asked “so, are you for Auburn or Bama”. But that’s really not a good reason to prevent you looking at an affordable school. What do you intend to major in? Premed is not a major but a series of required classes. You can major in anything.
