Last year, I took 3 SAT subject tests and got 690 Lit, 730 Math II, and 700 World History (on a bad day, could have done better on all of these). However, this fall I retook the Lit test and got an 800. (These are the only subject tests I’ve taken at this point.) I already have top SAT and ACT scores and lots of 5s and 4s on APs.
For very selective schools that don’t require Subject Test scores and don’t require sending all scores, which of the original scores would it be in my interest to send? Should I send all the scores, or all except the original Lit, or just the new score?
i think you should send the 800 obviously, as well as the Math II. I’m not certain about the 700 on WH- usually the rule I’ve been told is above a 700 is good to send.
@yonceonhismouth does it matter that the 700 WH is 70th percentile while the 730 Math is 55th percentile (plus almost 10 times more people take the Math II, so statistically speaking it would seem the WH is a much more distinguished score)?
Do you really think that AO’s have the luxury of time that they are all sitting on the floor crossreferencing percentile charts? I don’t.
Don’t focus on percentiles. The percentiles for most Subject Tests are depressed because few colleges require/request them. The ones that do are generally the elite ones with low admissions rates anyway. As a result, the students who sit for these exams are very self selecting. You want to see scary percentiles? Look at Chinese and Korean.
IMO, send the new lit score and M2.
