Which one am I better suited for?

I wanted to know my chances at Stanford OR Yale. These colleges are different, and I wanted to know not only my acceptance chances, but also the better option, so to speak. If alumni/current students could give their input, that would be great.

Personally I think it’s silly for you to retake bio with a 750 as 50 points is so minimal and your time could be better spent elsewhere. As far as Stanford goes…

Academically: I’d say qualified. Stanford’s average SAT is 2250 (which you’re close enough to) GPA? But pretty much your strength is in your academics. Most of your ECs are academic also.

My concern: pretty much all of your resume is academic-oriented. Sports? Clubs? etc.

2400 4.0s get rejected all the time because Stanford values well-rounded individuals. If I were you I’d spend some time building up the non academic ECs.

I didn’t apply to Yale so I can’t help you there. If you keep your trend up while both will still be reaches you have a chance at both.

Thanks Laeven! Dance is my passion so maybe I should build up on that somehow.

^That sounds like a good idea to me. I did the arts supplement for music and got in. Several people I know who got in did arts supplements for dance.

Alright - I’ll look into the arts supplement :)

Best luck! It’s really not so bad (resume and like 10 minute video for dance I think. Might also need a rec).

Thanks. Did you know anyone who did classical Indian dance?

Too early to bump?

I actually think your extracurriculars are great; the internship and the research sound quite impressive. The only problem is that you don’t have a really clear focus. If someone looks at your profile, he/she doesn’t get a good idea of what your passion is. As for which you’re better suited for, that would depend on what you want to major in and what you look for in a college.

I’m sorry I forgot to mention this: I would like to do premed with some sort of liberal arts major or molecular biology.

I didn’t know anyone who did classical Indian dance, but then again no one I knew who applied was Indian so that’s not too surprising. I feel like Indian classical dance is one of the better categories because it’s utilizing your diversity in an EC, but thats just IMO.
