Which one has a better program?

So im deciding to which universities to apply and wanted to know what school has a better engineering program in computer science, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering. From this universities:
-Both cal polys slo and pomona
-UCLA
-New york university
- Arizona State University
- SDSU
-UC Irvine
-UC San Diego

UC San diego has a great Computer Engineering program By the way I’m from San Diego… I guarantee you that you will love SD more than any other city from your list.

Isn’t the app deadline for the UCs in a few days? Why are you just deciding now?

NYU doesn’t offer engineering; however, NYU-Poly does.

[Polytechnic Institute of New York University | NYU-Poly](<a href=“Home | NYU Tandon School of Engineering”>http://www.poly.edu/)

@mom2collegekids: Because i already applied i want to know which is better when deciding to which university i shall go to
@collegeiatedreams: i know but in 2014 both universities will merge together and nyu poly will become part of nyu

@nuclearengineer: yeah i know sd is great and being from the imperial valley it mighg be easier to get in

They are still have separate admission processes, separate campuses, and separate diplomas since the merge is not yet complete. Yes, you share some resources, but there is still a division between the two schools. The student bodies don’t interact much and both schools have very different environments. I think it will be some time before NYU-Poly is truly integrated into NYU as its School of Engineering.

My statement is still correct, though. NYU does not offer engineering. NYU-Poly does. They are separate schools. If you want to apply as an engineer, you must apply to NYU-Poly, not NYU.

^Yup.

I think UCLA also has a good engineering program. But I think UCSD is still at the top regarding engineering?
IMO The thing that’s a turnoff about UCs, though, is the major bulk of undergraduates and hence the high competitiveness that comes with research opportunities, etc.
