Which one is better?

Hey there!

I have decided to reply to my USA universities and unfortunately I can't decide between Drexel University in Philadelphia and Chapman University in Orange County California.

If anyone knows anything about these two universities it would be great to tell me the pros and cons and give me a little advice on which one to pick.

I applied as a history and Psychology major in Drexel and as an Psychology major in Chapman.
I have already researched a little and found a student review site which gave chapman a B and Drexel a C as a grade. But the I don't completely trust the site. I have also read that chapman is a rather smaller uni with about 11,000 students whereas drexel has 31,000. Chapmans student body has 65% white people and only 3% black. As an international student I like to be around different cultures and would therefore prefer more diversity. Plus i have read that in chapman they tend to have groups (e.g. rich kids, smart kids, this kind of stuff). I don't want this but am not sure how intense it is over there or if it is true in any way. Orange county a very rich and safe place but I am mostly worried about the student body atmosphere there I don't want snobby people as friends. The campus housing buildings are being renovated frequently which is a good thing as they don't look very old and are in good conditions. I also like the fact that classes are small and that students have close contact with professors.
so far what I have heard about drexel is that the administration and staff members are not very kind but students are nice. This is very bad as it seems like the school does not care about their students. The good thing about drexel is that I got a scholarship and that its student body is a little bit more diverse.

Another aspect I have to consider is the distance. If i would choose california then i would have to fly 12 hours as my family lives in close to the arabian gulf. The east coast is definitely closer for me and my brother lives there too.

I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me more information and help me with my choice.

thanks so much!

“The good thing about drexel is that I got a scholarship”

How much less expensive will Drexel be for you to attend? Be sure to include your travel and living expenses.

“The east coast is definitely closer for me and my brother lives there too.”

Drexel is smack in the middle of Philadelphia. You can travel easily from Philadelphia to many parts of the East Coast by rail or by bus. If you are in California, you will have to fly. It would probably be a good thing to be able to live nearer to your family.

I’d vote for Drexel.

I’d go for Drexel.

Go to Drexel, Chapman was co-opted by conservatives after its noble beginnings. Philadelphia is a diverse city and a GREAT city. Chapman is in the middle of Orange County.
