arts and sciences or life sciences and agriculture?

are you a New York resident? If so AgLife is easier; if not, it's a toss up, I'd say with Arts and Sciences being a bit harder. What major(s) are you looking at?

i'm looking at communication and sociology. nope, not a ny resident.

they're even anyway IMO. It only seems that CALS is easier for instate because so many NYers apply there. For that reason they have a higher yield among NY residents. Each college has a different acceptance rate, but it's the quality of the fit for you that dictates your chances. A 4.0/2400 student will have trouble getting into Architecture if he's never drawn anything in his life before.

Then I'd say go for whichever one is more appealing to you--it really is a toss up. Read the requirements for each major and then try and determine which school to apply to. Remember, you can always double major between schools.

If you want statistics, the acceptance rate for both schools was around 22-25%.

Sparticus, don't you get tired sometimes from answering the same questions over and over and over....

yes...Spartacus is very tired of answering these same old questions...after all he is very tired from taking advantage of all that Cornell has to offer both academically and otherwise...but like most Cornell students he is happy to lend a hand to those looking for answers...

but then again, at this time last year he was already answering questions...even before he had been notified of his early decision acceptance...

that's because he proved to be industrious when it came to acquiring knowledge, like first checking with www.cornell.edu before he posted a question here...

the adcoms could tell he was well above average and accepted him.

yes...and wharf forgot to mention that sparticus also used the FRICKIN SEARCH TOOL ON COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL to look for other threads where the questions are often DISCUSSED 10 FRICKIN TIMES ALREADY :)
