which one is more preferable?

say if two applicants have the same stats
but only one difference
applicant 1
800M, 780 IIc
applicant 2
780M, 800 IIc
which is more preferable?

Definitely 780M, 800 IIC.

A 780M reflects that an applicant might have accidentally missed one or two problems. An 800 IIc shows that an applicant must have missed at least around 5 problems (given the generous curve). An exceptional math student may get a 780M (or even a bit lower), but will never get less than an 800 IIc.

another one,
700 writing on SAT II
or
700 writing on the new SAT I?

They are pretty much identical.

Eh IIC is just Precalc. SAT I Math tests ur innate ability at math. I think SAT I Math is more important, but I do agree 800 IIC coupled with 780 I looks better.
