I got accepted to NYU LSP Program
which offered me a chance to study in Europe (London, Paris or Florence)
and also got accepted to University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign
and I wanna major in psychology
Majorwise, UIUC is far better than NYU
but NYU is better in overall academic reputation
and also I love the opportunity to go study in Europe
also, since i am planning to go to graduate school
I heard if I go to NYU LSP, I would get better GPA
so, i'm kind of leaning towards NYU LSP
if finance isn't the problem, which school would you recommend?

If finances aren’t a problem then I would go to NYU because you sound more excited about the possibilities at NYU and students change their majors all the time (that’s not a bad thing they just get exposed more when they go to college). These two places could not be any more different. Big U, frat parties and big sports vs completely Urban Campus.

Now is money was an issue I would go to UIUC, because it is a GREAT school.

My math would be as follows, I would go to NYU if it wasn’t more than 5-7K per year more than UIUC. If it’s more than that I would go to UIUC.

You can easily do study abroad from UIUC as well

Okay…I got accepted into the LSP at nyu…they sent me a financial plan that required me to take out three loans…so i decided to go to brooklyn college ( a cuny) instead…so i sent in my response…and denied nyu and accepted brooklyn…two weeks later nyu sends me a new financial plan requirng me to only pay about 3000 a year with no loans…im freaking outtt…can i still be accepted to LSP at nyu even if i said no…pleassse help

Call them NOW!

I got into NYU LSP and it made me not want to go there. The curriculum is really strict and you don’t have much room to prepare for your major, which you can’t really decide until Junior year…to me it seemed like I would be really unprepared and it’s a bad idea especially because I want to declare bio and LS students can only take one math and the science classes they pretty much decide for you, so i’ll need to take a lot in my junior and senior year. Also- you can study abroad at almost any college so don’t make that your deciding factor.
