Hi, I am very very very very happy (happier than the happiest :D) that I have been accepted to all of my top choices schools and now I have to make a decision on choosing one of those top choices. It is really difficult to make but please input any comment or advices you have for me.

Here consist my own little unscientifically proven comments:
-UCB math department is ranked #1 in the nation but competition there is just crazy.
-UCLA has the greatest school spirit! Yeah GO Bruins!!! UCLA fight fight fight! UCLA was initially my first choice!
-UCSD has the best scene and surrounding and many friends are there.
-UCI offers me the most grants out of all the UCs.
-USC engineering department is ranked #9 in the nation, better than all the UCs except UCB and USC offers me 3X more grants than UCLA does; I like USC classrooms, buildings, high tech laboratories... the most out of all schools but it costs much higher than attending a public school.

My natural inclination toward choosing the school is like this:
UCLA=USC=UCB>UCI>UCSD. (as you can see, I still haven't really chosen a final one yet)

Please input any comments or advices on this for me, and please rank your preference like what I did above. I'm really having difficult time making a final decision. I really appreciate your input! :)

Hey man, I'm going to UCI right now and I was just accepted as a UCLA transfer student (wish I had applied to UCB but oh well). I took Physics 1A at UCLA last summer and it was insane (Physics 1A at UCLA is equivalent to two physics courses at UCI). The main reason that I'm thinking about transferring is that I WANT a good education. If you want my advice, go to Berkeley. Yes, the competition will be insane, but when you get a degree that says UC Berkeley, nobody will care about your GPA (except maybe grad schools, but they favor research more. ; ) ).

oh yeah, magic, you wanna share your experience in taking that physics 1A? Physics is toughest subject for me for realz; when I was taking the thermaldynamics course, it was insane and my physics professor was a UCLA graduate

tallkell, why not USC or UCSD?

to all, I'm looking for more comments... please! Thanks!

go to USC...I have friends at all the UC's, and the one thing that you will find is that UC schools put an emphasis on their grad students. USC is a great school, and the night life is amazing.

UCLA! MATH MAJORS HOOOOO! Sorry I have no input on this one. I first thought I was going to go to UCSB but UCLA surprised me with their acceptence. UCLA was my top top choice and I hope you can decide which one is best for you. Best of luck:)

Oh... ijflexi, currently I don't know but I plan to become a scientist or an electrical engineer.

wow Citan; you sent in SIR for UCLA already?
Wait a minute, if we send in the SIR late but not later than June 1 (before the deadline of course), will we still have space?

hey ee_student, where have you been accepted and which one will you most likely choose? why or why not?

Can you elaborate more on that? Why not UCLA or UCB? I have been thinking so much about this but still haven't made a final decision yet... so all PLEASE please enlighten me with your comments regarding this... I really appreciate your comments.

Well..I was playing poker at a local casino tonight and I had a very interesting conversation with a gentleman about college, more specific..UCLA vs USC.. He went to UCLA his brother USC.. They both studied Pharmacy....right out fo college the job offerswere pouring in like crazy and they were all very good...he on the other who had graduated 2 years later..had very few job offers.. without getting DEEP into the conversation he pretty much summed it up by saying USC and USC alumi take care of their own much better than any public school ever could. If you are sure of yourself and know that no matter where you get your education u can accel and learn the material ..then you should look beyonf prestige and "quality of education" as so ranked by some magazine or what not this is life..think about this holistically sp?
