On one hand, I got into the medical programs at Brown (PLME) and USC (BMD) on a full scholarship, and this would be the more secure path, since I'm guaranteed into their medical school.

On the other hand, Yale is an amazing school, and I've dreamed of going there for a long time...but I definitely don't have the brains or stamina enough to get through pre-med there. :( Also, they didn't give me as much financial aid, but not by a large degree...they paid for over 80% of my tuition. And it's Yale.

I need help choosing from people who have gone through this already :) thanks

You’re kidding right? Guaranteed medical school for less money and you’re questioning this?

USC (BMD) on a full scholarship NO BRAINER

“but I definitely don’t have the brains or stamina enough to get through pre-med there.”

Wow I hope I find another doctor. Have a little more confidence.

I would go PLME on the full scholarship, personally, but I think that’s no surprise.

Not taking the guaranteed med at either school for less money is just crazy talk though.

wait brown! didnt see the full scholarship part there too!

Brown PLME. Hands down.

But USC’s med school ranks higher than Brown’s, even though Brown itself is more prestigious in some ways…

Look at Brown’s matchlist. You’ll do plenty fine at Alpert Med. Consider how fast it’s reputation has been built in the 35 years or so it’s been around and the huge recent influx of money. Alpert’s trajectory is way up and it’s already very well respected as you can see with the match results.

Go to whichever will make you happier, but I wouldn’t want 4 years at USC never mind 8. But that’s me.

Brown provides incredible opportunities, and their program is much, much more prestigious than that of USC. You will have a much easier time finding a job after 8 years at PLME than you will coming out of USC. I say Brown without a doubt, even without the money. Good luck =)

Um, according to the current US News med school rankings it’s not. Brown is #32, USC is #34. Last year Brown was #34, USC #39. The difference is actually trifling, so you shouldn’t make their rank a major factor in your decision.

Follow your dream to Yale.
