So I took the SAT the second time in June and these were my scores:

600 Math
660 CR
710 Writing
10 Essay
Total: 1970

I was hoping to break 2000, but I didn't. I also took the ACT in June. However, I don't know what I got on that yet. I'm a rising HS Senior, and I will be taking my SAT IIs (Bio, Math I, and Lit) in October. (I took USH in May and got a 750, which is good enough, I guess). At this rate, should I concentrate on getting a 33+ on the ACT or should take the SAT again for a third time? I don't really want to focus on both tests; that's too much considering all the other stuff I have going on over the summer. Btw, my top choice is Rice and I'm also applying to Harvard. Don't worry, I have my safeties.

So... thoughts?

There’s no point in taking SAT Subject Tests if you send in ACT scores. So I’d say SAT. And yes, a 750 in USH is good. And why not take Math II?

Why not Math II? Because, as my SAT I indicates, I’m rather bad at math…

Why would you bother with taking Math I then?

Because I plan on going into Neuroscience and plus some of the places I’m applying to require either Math I or Math II. Isn’t Math I easier?

@kit

Debatable, more people get higher scores from Math II because of the generous curve.

Hmmm… based on my SAT I, which should I take?

Math I is apparently really similar to the SAT I Math, but you might get a lower score on it. If you’ve taken at least Pre-Cal, try getting some prep books and study for Math II. If you take a Barron’s practice test and get at least a 620 or higher, you have a chance of getting an 800. Really.

Ok I’ll look into it. I can still update my test choice on CB, right?
