I'm currently in the process of applying to about 5 schools. 3 of them, I honestly feel as though I have the test scores and grades needed to get in. They are Penn State, Virginia Tech, and UMD-CP. Which exactly has the best engineering program, in general? I'm not asking if it has a BIG engineering program, I'm asking if it has a GOOD engineering program (sorry if I seem vague). I'm still wondering which one I can (possibly) accept into, so if you guys have any experience from the following schools, I would really appreciate the input.

On a sidenote...to me, I like the schools I have chosen, but are they good in the public eye? Are these schools as good as they seem?

They are all fine for engineering. Can you afford all of them?

I have the scholarships to take care of probably at most 2 years worth, about $20k or so. I have a decent savings that my parents plan to give me once I graduate high school. So, financially, I can afford the school, I’d just still have to work for myself when it comes to food and power.

Those schools will cost more than $20,000 for two years, even at in-state prices (and they do not all have the same in-state and out-of-state prices).

You need to figure out how much you really have to spend on school and check the net price after financial aid and scholarships for each school to make sure that you can afford them.
