Hey everyone, I'm currently in a bit of a personal bind. I'm applying as a transfer student this year and am just finishing putting together my spring class schedule (I don't start until next monday). I'm currently at UMass Amherst and am torn between taking a second class at Amherst College (already take macroecon) or just staying at UMass. Would taking the second class at Amherst look better, since Amherst College is a much better school? It would be more of an inconvenience due to traveling there for two classes, but I'm definitely willing to do it. I'd just like to know if it's worth it basically? Thanks

Where are you applying to as a transfer?

Wharton, Duke, Dartmouth, and UVA

I don't think it is clear how much it would help, but I suppose it couldn't hurt. Some of the issue is how it would be presented. Since you are taking the course at Amherst under a consortium agreement, it might not even show on the UMass transcript where you actually took the course. If it did show, it might not be emphasized so that somebody would notice just by looking at the transcript. I would recommend that you ask one of the UMass advisors how it shows on the transcript for a transfer.
