Hey everyone, I'm currently in a bit of a personal bind. I'm applying as a transfer student this year and am just finishing putting together my spring class schedule (I don't start until next monday). I'm currently at UMass Amherst and am torn between taking a second class at Amherst College (already take macroecon) or just staying at UMass. Would taking the second class at Amherst look better, since Amherst College is a much better school? It would be more of an inconvenience due to traveling there for two classes, but I'm definitely willing to do it. I'd just like to know if it's worth it basically? Thanks

How much time do you want to spend on a bus or in the car during winter?

i would say it's worth it, not only for the prestige but also because you'll probably get more out of the amherst class. could you schedule it for after your macroecon class, so you only have to make one trip?
taking classes at amherst, i think, could be analogized to taking ap classes or college classes instead of a regular high school program. obviously taking advantage of ap classes gives you a leg up in freshman admissions.. so it would follow that taking advantages of amherst would do the same. it would show you're ready for a challenge.
out of curiosity, are you trying to transfer to amherst?

i'm actually applying to Wharton, Duke, Dartmouth, and UVA. I feel the same way about getting more out of the class, so I would like to do it. I was just wondering if you guys thought it would look better on the application. Thanks, any more input would be really appreciated
