which one?

Hi I just graduated with a B.A. in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University. I have a competitive GPA and plenty of research and work experience. The problem is, is that I've missed all the graduate school deadlines. Now, I have two choices:

1) apply to average schools that have applications open till April, and hopefully get in
2) wait it out and apply to the best MPH programs

There are pros and cons to both ideas. While an MPH from a great school will get me acknowledgment, I may not get as much hands on experience. If I go to a normal/average program to receive an MPH, I may be able to get more field work, and possibly publish.

However, again, graduating from a great university has many perks.

I need help because my ultimate goal is to get a PhD and teach. Any suggestions on which is better?

Wait out for better programs...especially if your goal is to get a PhD.
