Brown
Wellesley
NYU
Boston College
Smith College

I've only been accepted to Purdue so far cause it's rolling admissions. I'll be lucky if I get into any of those listed above. But IF I did, which ones would you pick?

Right off the bat, I'd say Brown, but it depends on what you want to major in. If you wish to study Engineering, I'd say Purdue. If you wish to study Business, NYU would be your best shot. If you want an all-women's college, Wellesley or Smith would be a no-brainer. But in terms of overall college experience and excellence, Brown is hard to beat.

Wellesley (for women).

Alexandre is 100% right. For a college of arts and sciences person (business, pre-med, law, grad school), though, Brown is significantly better overall vs. NYU, Wellesley (closer to Brown), and Smith.

Most Ivy engineering is geared to banking or grad school, so if you want to work for boeing after school you should be looking at engineering schools.

Slipper, are you saying Wellesley is more like Brown in terms of liberal arts edu than NYU?

I want to major in international relations/international business. What if I had the choice between NYU and Wellesley but not Brown? In that case, which one would you pick?

Brown definitely above all of them. In terms of choosing solely between NYU and Wellesley:

NYU and Wellesley are VERY different schools. Granted they're both in or very close to big cities (Wellesley is 15 mins out of Boston), but Wellesley is a LAC and NYU simply isn't. I would personally choose NYU because I find LAC atmospheres a bit suffocating....but at Wellesley you do get the benefits of having connections with both Harvard and MIT. You get the goods and bads of an all-girls school and you'll get a more personalized education. For business, though, I'd say NYU's Stern trumps Wellesley. I know one person who has been to Wellesley and my best friend is going there next year; basically, if the all-women LAC atmosphere is right for you, you can't get much better (academically or otherwise) than Wellesley. If you like your independence and enjoy the big city, go with NYU.

I enjoy big cities immensely, but I can live without it (same goes for the lack of males factor). In terms of getting jobs and internships, which one would be better? :) Thanks

BC is full of status-loving rich white tools.
in my opinion.

I agree dancingbear.

Based solely on location, I think NYU will offer you more opportunities...but at the same time, you will have to seek them out yourself. Whereas at Wellesley, they're more apt to help you out along the way. But I'm just guessing, so don't trust me on that. (btw, from what I hear, there is no lack of males at or near Wellesley. Boston's a college city..)

I don't really intend on going to Boston College...it's my last resort...kind of. Many people are applying to BC at my school, and I gotta admitt a majority of them are "status-loving rich white tools."

Feels like most of cc'ers on here are leaning towards NYU as opposed to Wellesley, am I correct?

I would def. choose Brown or NYU, even if I were a girl.

I'd go with NYU, but it's really about what atmosphere is best for you. Academically, they'll both offer things that the other can't.

If you are in engineering, there's only one that will guarantee you (with a 3.5) admissions to graduate schools of engineering at Princeton, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins, and Tufts.

Smith. None of the other schools can make that offer.

BC is not in the same league as the others.

By league, are you talking prestige? From what I know BC's 2nd tier.

No it's not. It's better than Smith

Um shouldn't you wait until you actually get in to worry about this? :) Anyway I would defintely say Brown. If you wanted to go all girls I'd defintely go Wellesley over Smith...

BC is very conservative Catholic school with a US News ranking of 40 allthe others are ranked much higher.

Smith college is rated above BC? How is that possible?

Smith and Wellesley are not included in USNWR's Top National Universities ranking because they are all girls schools.
