Which ORMs are SOMETIMES considered URMS

What I mean is which schools consider many ORMS such as Asians (especially Indians), as being URMS, and treat them in such a manner during admission processes?

If a school was predominantly Caucasian, would there be any significant difference in the way Asian applicants were regarded?

There aren't many Asians at liberal arts colleges. Admissions officers at LACs have publicly stated that they want more Asians at their campuses.

So, yes, while Asians are "over-represented" (stupidest phrase of the last three decades) at research universities, they're "under-represented" at LACs.

buummp.....

So Harvey Mudd would be the way to go?

Engineering + liberal arts = win for Asians (or at least for the ones that want to major in some science/math field)?

I guess it would be "the way to go," but Asians aren't URMs in the field of Engineering, so it kind of cancels that out.

No HM has pleanty of Asians as do most top LACs and all schools in CA. Look at it school by school. You'll see schools in the South and MW that are less well known are the ones that need Asians.

bummp......
