-Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you.

-Discuss some issue of personal, local, national, or international concern and its importance to you.

-Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you, and describe that influence.

-Describe a character in fiction, a historical figure, or a creative work (as in art, music, science, etc.) that has had an influence on you, and explain that influence.

-A range of academic interests, personal perspectives, and life experiences adds much to the educational mix. Given your personal background, describe an experience that illustrates what you would bring to the diversity in a college community, or an encounter that demonstrated the importance of diversity to you.

-Topic of your choice.

Or does it really not matter what your personal essay is about?

The first topic is always the safest. I heard a lot of past graduates said that the second and the fourth topics, if done poorly, will not reveal you as a person.

I picked the first topic because I have personal experience that complements my CALS essay, and I think they are great fit together. Just be yourself and you’ll be fine.

I know that, but I want to know if the supplement will be sent to Cornell instantly when I hit the submit button or if it takes a few days for it to send.

So if I were to send the supplement say… on the day before it’s due, they would still accept it? Or would I have to send it to them like five days earlier with enough time for them to download it?

Lol, even though I made A+'s in all my AP classes, I never bothered taking a single AP exam until this year, where I plan to take around 12 :P.

I know in regular decision, the sooner you send in your app the better since it’s first come first serve, but does anyone know if this also applies to ED? I mean, it’s not going to hurt my chances in ED if I send it later than everyone else, but before the ED deadline right?
