I am not sure which carrier gets the best reception here.

And also, is it necessary 2 have an internet-enabled smartphone? I'm starting 2 think it's a waste because WiFi is everywhere across campus.....

From what I understand, Verizon is the best and AT&T is the worst, as usual. :(

AT&T worked fine for me everywhere except inside markley (which was where i lived unfortunately).

^Thanks for sharing this. My contract with verizon is almost expired and I was about to switch to a cheaper ATT data plan, but I am reluctant now, as I will be living in Markley.

I had Verizon and couldn’t make calls or send texts inside of my dorm in Markley. Old stone buildings.

I got good reception outside but never full bars. I think Ann Arbor in general needs more cell towers; I always have full bars at home no matter where I am.

I’m in Markley and very sad that cell service is not existent.

How well does Sprint work at U of M?

"How well does Sprint work at U of M? "

About as well as it works everywhere else.

res ispa,

Future lawyer? Kind of vague answer. I guess I should have asked does it work on campus? In Ann Arbor? It works great where I live, but AT & T doesn’t, necessarily.

Anyone with Sprint want to chime in?

Sprint works perfectly whenever I go there

AT&T worked well on both north & central campus, T-Mobile did not work on north, this past summer. Have not had trouble with AT&T anywhere in Ann Arbor.

Cell coverage for Verizon and ATT is really good. You gotta keep in mind that you’re in older dorms built like bunkers.
