Which prep book for Critical Reading and Writing?

<p>Ive only taken the SAT once and i got 620 CR 530 M 580 W and 10 on the essay.</p>

<p>Im going to Borders tomorrow and getting:
The Official Sat Guide for Practice Tests (BB)
Grubers Math Workbook
And I've heard good things about Direct Hits Vocab but they dont have that at borders =(
So please just let me know what books helped you with your Critical Reading and Writing scores!</p>

<p>The two best books are Rocket Review Revolution and Grammatix. The problem is that Rocket Review Revolution is out of print and Grammatix if $50.</p>

<p>Other than that, Barron’s book was alright for grammar and sources for CR.</p>

<p>PR’s Grammar Smart is okay for grammar also.</p>

<p>Also check out silverturtle’s awesome grammar guide.</p>

<p>The Princeton Review 11 practice tests book helped my reading and writing quite a bit, so did the Barron’s critical reading workbook and the Barron’s SAT book.</p>

<p>The real problem is that I can’t find Grammatix anywhere…Is this even a book?</p>

<p>Name of the book is Complete SAT and PSAT Strategy Guide and it’s by Michael Barrett. Grammatix, now a dead company, is the name of the publisher. </p>

<p>Grammatix and even Rocket Review were published a long time ago, so there is no need to pay exorbitant prices for outdated books. There are better resources now like CC, Silverturtles’s Guide and Direct Hits that were not around in 2005 when the new SAT was started, but are much more up to date with the current SAT. You can find most of what you need to do to be very successful right here on CC.</p>
