Should i use the new Barrons?
or kaplan?
Someone who did well recommend me one.

barrons. .

Definitely Princeton Review. From my own experience, I guarantee it's the best prep book!! I took the SATII Biology M subject test this May and many questions were very similar to the practice questions in PR.

Actually one experiment from the M section was exact copy(with some minor changes) from PR's second practice test.
Personally I used Kaplan, PR and some Sparknotes. I took it this May, but wasn't satisfied with my performance(I was pretending too much obviously). Actually it all depends on what score you're aiming. If mid 600s to low 700s is your purpose, just go with PR. If you shoot higher make sure you get Kaplan/Barrons as well as PR. PR's book is a must-have in my opinion. It provides you a solid knowledge base but dismisses lots of important peculiarities which might be crucial for a great score.

CliffsAP. It's supposed to be for the AP exam, but is just as good for the SAT II. In fact, the first question on the SAT II (without giving away what it was) seemed to be taken word-for-word from the CliffsAP book. I could've found the answers to most (if not all) questions directly in the CliffsAP book. Seriously, get that book.

Along with Cliffs, get Barron's new book. It's perfectly amazing and makes everything really easy to memorize. Plus, it has a lot of practice questions.

My Biology exam is going to be in June 2! Our biology cours was horrible at our school, but I'm using Barron's, Kaplan, and PR. I write everything on flash cards and go over them everyday. It can really help getting facts into your head.
=]
I like barrons a lot though because of the way they organize their facts. It's alot easier to memorize. All three of the books focus on different aspects of biology too..so make sure you get atleast two to get that covered.

I did ok (>700) and I used McGraw-Hill and Kaplan. I would not really recommend either, though. My friend's Princeton Review actually looked pretty good.

PR for classification,
otherwise KAPLAN.
Barrons is good but I felt some extra info in it.

If Barron's really has "extra info" then I actually feel pretty good about this test because the practice tests in that book aren't too bad. =]

Barrons has extra stuff but it is all worth it during the test -- trust me ;)

Kaplans and the old Barrons. it's the best combination.

cliffnotes AP book...it was more interesting and useful

Princeton Review is VERY readable. They help you remember it by giving you mneumonics and they provide short quizzes after every few paragraphs.
