Which one is a better option: UMCP computer science or Purdue Polytechnic cybersecurity?
Which one do you like better?
Do you want to study CS (more technical) or business-IT (less technical)?
If you study CS, your technical knowledge will be more than enough for IT jobs if you choose to go in that direction (though you would have to self-educate some of the more business aspects). But business-IT majors are unlikely to have strong enough technical knowledge to go into the software jobs that CS majors commonly go to.
@thumper1 I like both these colleges and am unable to decide but I am looking for more information from the job perspective and faculty strength
@ucbalumnus Thanks for the information!
Is cost an issue?
No, cost is not an issue
I would think CS will give you a broader background and job options, and you could specialize later, unless you have a very strong interest in cybersecurity.
Also look at the curriculum for both and see which one seems more like you.
I thought UMDCP is also known for cybersecurity.
