Hi! I just got into Temple and am thinking about putting my deposit down soon. Does anyone know what the best resident hall is? Excluding Morgan (too expensive). Which is the best resident hall in Temple overall? Thanks!
if you’re ok with communial and want a traditional experience than Johnson and Hardwick (JnH) is probably the best bet. I’ve heard 1300 is pretty nice and quite. White hall is good but the farthest dorm from the heart of campus. Personally I’m opting for 1940 because I like the location and prefer suite style.
Current Morgan Resident here. I have friends who live in different dorms on campus. If you want the stereotypical freshman residential life, J&H is the way to go. They’ve got communal bathrooms and a dining hall on the ground floor of the building, which is nice. My friends who live in J&H say that there’s a sense of camaraderie that they share with the people on their respective floors. Take that as you will. I stayed in White over orientation and it was pretty bad. The dorms have their own bathroom but you have to clean your own bathroom and purchase your own toilet paper. Also, you can hear the Broad St traffic throughout the day. The one advantage with White Hall is that it’s the closest dorm to the frats. I also think it’s the cheapest dorm on campus. 1300 is really clean and modern. The dorm setup is similar to 1940 so you have your own bathroom. 1300 is close to the Student Center, Fox, and Gladfelter and Anderson. 1940 is centrally located. It’s right on Liacorous Walk and is super close to Tyler.
