Tulane does look at writing, or else it would never ask for 1870 as a minimum on the SAT (or 28 composite on the ACT) for in-staters applying EA (single-choice or not) that come with a minimum of 3.5 UW to guarantee them admission. So I’d send both, personally.

I would also recommend sending both. Tulane does consider the writing portion, so you have a rather odd situation because of your asymmetrical subscore distribution. Your total of 2040 is considered to be a 30 on the ACT, so there the SAT is to your advantage. But a 1240 CR+M is either the highest end of a 27 or the lowest of a 28, so there your ACT wins. So send both and let Tulane decide how they want to parse it out. Schools tend to look at these things in the most favorable way to the student.

Does Tulane superscore your SAT scores? For example, if you have taken the SAT multiple times, do they take the highest Math, Writing and Critical Reading from all the different sittings and add them up to come up with a super score? Thanks!
