I've been wondering which SAT IIs to take. I've heard that one usually takes thress SAT IIs (english, math, science) but now that the writing SAT II = SAT I, I don't know what to go for. Should I do the US Hist SAT II because I'm going to take the AP test this year? I'm also planning to take the Bio and Chem SAT IIs this year (it might not be smart but I have my reasons). So please voice your opinions and tell me why. Thx

Take US History in May, around the same time when you'll be reviewing for the AP test, anyway.

Second, if you think you are good at English, then I would advise taking the SAT II Literature.

yes, take the US Hist in May, and then 1-2 in June, in whatever your strong subjects are. For example, you might consider math IIc if you are finishing pre-calc. The science II curves can be tough bcos many AP kids take them at the same time as the AP test.

Generally, colleges like to see different tests, i.e, one math/science, one humanities/lit, so they know you are well rounded. But, of course, if you plan to apply to MIT, CalTech or any top engineering school, then math IIc is a de facto requirement, as is a hard science like Physics or Chem.

math IIc is one of the easiest to get a good score on because the curve is generous. just get some practice tests or even a review book and make sure you remember all of the concepts. I started prepping for the Lit test, but it looked quite hard- although I was using Barron's- and decided instead to go for the US History. This was more relevant to my Political Science major. I guess just take whatever tests you feel most comfortable with, unless your schools require a certain type. (e.g. Foreign Language for Georgetown SFS, science for engineering at most schools, etc.)
