Which SAT prep books should I get?

I'm a junior and just took the SAT for the first time in January. I think I did ok, but I know I didn't ace any of the sections.

Which books do you recommend for someone who expects to get around 700 in the math and 600 or so in the CR/Writing?

I've heard that the Official SAT Study Guide and Barron's are good books? What are some good books that have real practice tests?

yes, official sat guide by collegeboard is the best.

Get hold of the official SAT study book (often called Blue Book on CC) and
also the TestMasters solutions to the BlueBook that explains the correct
answers in details o you will knwo why you went wrong.

If you do all the exams there cover to cover a couple of times and keep track
of your improvements you should get a 700+ on all 3 sections.

:)

Ok thanks guys. Is the Barron's book worth the read? My mom also got me the Mcgraw Hill book. Is that any good?

Alright. For starters, you obviously need the BB (collegeboard book). Then, get RocketReview, if you want to increase your CR/W scores to a 700.

After you raise your CR/W scores to 650 +, buy Barron's 2400. Use that with practice tests, memorize (solidly) about 5-10 vocab a day, and you're done! :D. Only, it's not that simply to handle such a 'rigorous' routine/habit without getting lazy, and at the same time handling multiple APs

Haven't tried rocketreview from experience yet, but I would recommend the Barron's 2400. It's an awesome book with awesome strategies :). that book+blue book = 2400! (not really, but it's still a good book!)

So probably all you'll need is RR, the blue book(for the authentic questions), and barrons 2400.

what i have is blue book and barron's how to prepare for the sat and barrons 2400.. they're amazing (espeically how to prepare). Read the whole book and you'll be fine.. memorize the common errors and try to memorize the yellow cards in the back. I expected a 720 M, 650 CR, and 650 W.. but with both barron's books (and practice tests in the Blue book) i got (on one of the practice tests) 760 M, 660 CR (still bad at that.. didn't really read the CR sections) and 760 Writing... writing is the easiest section to improve by far.

So would you guys recommend Barron's How to prepare or Barron's Aiming for 2400?

I like the 2400 book better. IMO, You can boost your score faster (only applies if you're a CC-level overachiever)

is it bad to use the BB too early, just say as a soph?

I've already done all the practice tests in the Blue Book, now I have nothing to use. I already did the collegeboard test online, and I don't know how else to prepare for the March SAT now.

I'm stuck between the Barron's books. I took the SAT for the first time in Jan., so I don't know my scores yet. I'm expecting a 1800-1900.
