which SAT subject tests are you going ot take and what are you going to major in? just curious~ share please!

Math IIC, Literature and US History.
I'm not going to college.

Already taken math IIC and writing
Going to take physics and german.
Math with a lot of foreign language on the side

Right gigante. You spend half of your free time on a college discussion board and take college board tests for the fun of it? :-)

Wow, interesting. So I'm guessing most people are still going to take 4 SAT2's even after the New SAT1?
Anyone else want to share?

S is going to take Lit, Math I and II in May. Yes, I know, why take both maths? He is really limited in what he can take, since his school is very limited in APs allowed junior year. He will probably take the physics SAT II next fall after some self-studying, but his teacher recommended against taking it in May because there is a lot of material which has not been covered in class.

took Math iic, chem, physics, gonna do spanish bio and retake math

taking US History, CHem, and IC

Don't take US History unless you really want to (It's all memorization of facts and I thought it was alot harder than the AP test).

Take Math IIC (Definitely), whatever Science class you like best, maybe Lit and if you take a language (and are not a native speaker cause some people say "they" frown on native speakers taking their own tests), take that as well.

:)

I'm taking Biology, Physics, and Math IIC for sure.. and I might add on Spanish. Planning on majoring in biomedical engineering.

There is no more SAT2 Writing is there?

Math, Physics, US History

I'm pretty much undecided as to what I'm going to major in, at this point I'm interested in molecular biology and physics, but who knows.

About taking 4 SAT IIs -
Most schools like Harvard, Yale, etc. still require three SAT IIs even though the writing test has been synthesized into the SAT I. Isn't it going to look bad if you submit an SAT II that is part of the SAT I? It's like you only have two SAT IIs.

i'm taking literature and math 1 c in june. (yeah, i know math 1c but i'm in precalc this year so my guidance counselor advised on taking 1c) and im going to take spanish in october since i'm going to a hispanic country over the summer. quick question, listening for foreign languages is better to take versus the non listening tests right?

I'm doing US History this year (hope I don't end up regretting it!), and probably Math IIC and French next year.

I plan to major in a social study....

french, bio, and US history

math iic and bio (done)
us history, chem, physics (taking)

The SAT II Writing test is no longer offered and, in general, will not be accepted as a suitable Subject Test. In some cases colleges are accepting an old SAT (M+V) along with the SAT II Writing in place of the New SAT.

With the exception of the most competitive 8-12 colleges, most schools have dropped their Subject Test requirements or recommendations to 2. Of course you can take more and you will usually be evaluated on your best scores.

See http://www.compassprep.com/subject_test for the latest Subject Test requirements at the top 100 colleges.

If you are a native speaker of one of the Subject Test languages you are crazy not to take the test in that language. Hey, you have to take the SAT in a "foreign language", why not take the Subject Test in your native language.

foggy, they got rid of SAT II Writing since it's incorporated into the new SAT.

I find CollegeConfidential entertaining and taking the tests fun. I really have no intentions of school beyond high school.
