Okay, so I have been a science student since 9th grade and common sense tells me that I'll do better if I take Maths, Physics and Chemistry. However, since I have only taken 4 A-level subjects(Maths,Phy,Chem and Business) over the last two years, I doubt if most colleges would be impressed by the range of my subjects. All students from my school who have gotten into good US colleges(I am an international) have had at least 5 subjects and a lot of the times, more than that.

So I was thinking of taking World History instead of one of the science subjects. World History hasnt really been part of my course work for the last 5 years but I am genuinely interested in the subject and read relevant material every now and again.

So how hard is world history? I have the summer to prepare so would that be enough for me? And would it really help me to take World history instead of for instance Physics.

I would be most likely applying to LACs(Haverford, Williams, Davidson, Cornell, Reed, Hamilton). Maybe into one of the Ivy's as well for engineering but mostly LACs.
