Which school do you regret not applying to?

^BCP: You’re just showing off now. :slight_smile: Oh and thanks for outing me with your wall post. ;-)

I regret not applying to Harvard

xxk4ixx- you know that Harvard takes few transfer applicants?

I think they were kidding

^I’m not. I applied to Harvard and so did another poster on this thread. The experience was stressful but I learned a lot about myself so it was worthwhile. I also applied to four UCs, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, and Stanford. It was a **** ton of personal statements and money, but I’m a masochist.

Same with USC. The application process for transfer overwhelmed me a bit and in all honestly I was just too lazy lmao. After the deadline passed I started to regret not at least trying to apply to a school other than UCs. Besides, my brother is a huge USC fan (football), going there would defiantly make him a happy camper. But eh, its okay.

Santa Barbara and UCB! I thought about USC, but it’s like 5 minutes from my house. I want to dorm.

lol eyethink…yes, it was an exagger. I really meant “99x.” lol, but seriously, good luck on harvard, dartbutt, fredtown, etc.
:)

^Awww … thanks sarcasm :-)

@eyethink ;)

I laughed at Dartbutt and Fredtown.

I regret not applying to UCSD. I shouldn’t have applied to Cal, I know and always knew I wasn’t going to get in & had no intention on going. I didn’t even do the supplemental app. That was just a waste of an application!

i regret having applied to so many damn schools. i wish i wouldnt have wasted my money/time on any Cal States. I dont think i can realistically move to Berkeley either, so i dont really know why i applied there.

glad i applied to USC though : )

mostly i just want to be accepted at UCLA, USC, or NYU… the Cal state LA acceptance i got a week after applying just wasnt that satisfying for some reason… ha.

^ @LizfromHollywood: I understand what you mean when you mention thta the Cal State LA doesn’t seem appealing.I applied last year and I had a terrible GPA and they still accepted.It was as if they were saying, “hey,just stick around at community college and then apply and we automatically get in.” That’s why I decided I should challenge myself and attempt to get in at a UC(btw,I will have gone but after researching about schools and stuff,I realize I wanted to be a pharmacist and a UC education will definitely prepare for those entry exams and research).

I should have applied to UCI just to have another acceptance to calm my nerves right now.

@deanzetransfer
That’s what you think. I applied to UCI as a backup and they haven’t even responded to me yet with a decision. If anything, it just makes me more nervous.

I only applied to LA, SB, and I. I don’t regret applying to any other schools because I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else, you know? What’s the point if I KNOW I don’t want to go? Although, I do kind of wish SD had better literature majors.

Def regret not applying to Cal Poly. Visited it later and would have been the perfect fit for me.

ucsb for me.

HAPPILY GLAD i didn’t apply to USC, not sure where all the USC love is coming from… but to each his/her own.

I don’t know why everyone thinks they missed the USC deadline?? Maybe you were all confused by the freshman deadline of December 1st. The transfer deadline is on February 1st. So apply everyone who is regretting it! You still have time. There is a USC transfer thread in the transfer forum. Most privates are still open for transfer admissions.

Sorry for the non-UC post, just want to help you all out :)

Well, I’m at UCD now and loving it but I do sort of regret not applying to UCB and UCLA around this time in 2010. I had a 3.6 GPA transferring as a Stats major which isn’t impacted at any UC I think. I’m also an older student (> 29) and had a really good essay that was proofread, edited, and read again and again, by several instructors at my CC.

I’ve grown up in the city all my life (NJ/NYC area) so being in LA or Berkeley would have been nothing new. I visited Davis though for the first time and really liked it. I had friends going here and received a stellar aid package once everything was finalized with my admissions.

But who knows. Maybe if I bust my you know what over the next year and a half I can be one of the very few who get into either UCLA or UCB’s grad program in Stats/Biostats. :)
