Which school for business? UMD or BU?

I am thinking about either finance or accounting and maybe minor in economics. BU is in the city so it has great internship opportunities but their career center has received low grades and negative feedback. UMD's is ranked higher in all areas and it seems to do a good job of providing extracurricular activities to tie in with business (fellowships, scholars, etc.) but it is not in the city, which is a negative to me because i absolutely love city life.

Do I take the school with cheaper school ($32,000 compared to $42,000) with better academics or do i pay the extra money to enjoy the lifestyle that I've dreamed about?

buummmmppppp

If you want a city, you take the METRO from College Park into DC, or you get a pal to drive you to Baltimore.

The cost difference is not chump change. We are in a down economy and things are not likely to get much better before you graduate. Go to Maryland.

anyone else???

wow i am loving the turn out ._.

UMD is not in the heart of the city, but it’s definitely not hard at all to get to DC. go to the school that will serve you better in the future, which is UMD.

bump…

bump again…

Go to the cheaper option. BU is not worth 40K more than Maryland.

I´d say UMD. Smith is really good business school, probably better than BU and you ´save´ $10,000

^^^^^

Agreed. If you want the Boston experience take some of the savings and get an internship during the summer in Boston when the weather is finally terrific.

If you want to live the dream, get a job in Boston after graduation. It will still be there.
