Which school for film major

JusDis,
If students here would only look at the website, see the incredible facilities, tour the new School of Cinematic Arts complex and note the names of the award winning faculty I hope they would agree with you. The new complex is so amazing, SC has now scheduled tours because of the demand. These are in addition to the regular student tours.
Rarely mentioned is the wonderful library for the school. Included are huge collections of film and archives from the major studios among other holdings.

hello there, since i have done an exhausting extensive research in film schools i think i can provide some info.
1- you have the main famous film schools
USC
NYU
UCLA
Northwestern
FSU.
But you must know that Northwestern university offers a radio film and tv major which is a little different from what the other 4 offer. I personally prefer the radio tv film program because of the more broaden curriculum.
These schools are VERY hard to get accepted so have some schools that you changes are higher.

2- some schools that have very good film programs

Biola university, has a decent program and it is located near L.A and they have a lot of connections wih the industry
CSU fullerton is like biola, not that well know but certainly will offer you a good education and possibilities.
LMU- another good school when it comes to film. good facilities and connection
Chapman…out of this world facilities, famous faculty very nice program
San jose state university…interesting program…good faculty with real industry experience
drexel university…Pennsylvania…nice program…sharp faculty…
Texas christian university…a surprise for me…outstanding facilities…they have a huge endowement…great faculty with imprssive background…a lot of interships oportunity in LA NYC.
UT austin…famous program good connections.

3- My big mistake was beeing obssessed with the big four( NYU, UCLA NU and USC) and i neglected the other school, which i deeply regret now…any of these schools a listed are good places to study film…you will have a good teaches and oportunities to thrive… the rest is up to you.

4whenever you are looking at a school always look at their faculty to se if they really have experience in the field( that’s crucial for future conections), see about intership and the companies the normaly hires students, check the facilities to see what kinda of equipment they use and policies to use them. don’t be obssessed with going to a school in L.A or NYC…it is good to be in those cities but all the universitis a listed and a lot of that i haven’t have intership opportunities in L.A NYC and chicago…don’t limit yourself.

There’s been some great suggestions here. Also look into UNC Wilmingtom. It’s a great school with a lovely campus, and Wilmington is the 3rd largest production center for film and television in the United States.
