Which school has the best psychology program? UCSD, NYU, UIUc, U of Minnesota, U of Wisconsin Madiso
Honestly, if you plan on going to graduate school for psych? It’s the one that will cost you the least for undergrad so you can pay for grad school. All are absolutely fine.
Thanks for your advice
I agree, any of those would be perfectly fine for undergrad psych. Are any of them in-state for you? That’s probably going to end up being your best bet.
I agree with the comments above. These are all very good universities.
My understanding is that with a bachelor’s degree in psychology there is not much you can do in terms of immediately getting a good career, but there are all kinds of different things that you can do for example with a master’s degree or optionally a PhD. Thus you should budget for five or six years of university.
This suggests avoiding debt for your bachelor’s degree – particularly when choosing from among six schools that are all very good.
None in-state,all out-of-state?
Psych is a large popular major at most Universities, so whichever is cheapest. Are you an international, or do you have an instate public which would be a better option?
International, no instate public
For suggestions for one private and one public university, strongly consider NYU and UM–TC.
^ Yes, U of MN has two great psych departments - the regular one in CLAS and the Institute of Child Development’s developmental psych program in CEHD. Undergrad psych majors can get jobs - it helps if you take more than the minimum of stats courses and get some employable skills using relevant software packages.
