Which school has the best undergraduate English program?

I was curious to see which school has the best undergraduate English program. Does UVA or UNC have really good English programs? What about Johns Hopkins, Columbia and Penn?

Any of the Ivy Leagues, Chicago, Hopkins, Duke, UCLA, Berkeley, UVa to name a few. There aren’t any undergrad rankings for English (that I can find…), so I would go by the graduate school rankings if you’re interested. I know that at Hopkins, at least, most of the undergrad classes are taught by grad school professors. Its probably the same for most of the other universities, as well.

It may depend on your goal; JD and PhD are common English terminal programs. For PhD:

This is a narrow measure, not necessarily of quality, but of results. It may simply reflect self-selection, or may reflect a popular major among schools with fewer majors. There are different ways to interpret this rough statistic.
