Which school should I go to?

Hello, I applied to 15 schools, got accepted into 12 of them. I plan to study computer science/informatics in college. I’ve done extensive research, and now I’m just down to picking the school to attend. I’m very indecisive as to which school to pick.

Here is a full list of schools I got into:

1.) Indiana University
2.) Arizona State University
3.) University of Colorado - Boulder
4.) University of Massachusetts - Amherst
5.) Drexel University
6.) SUNY University of Buffalo
7.) SUNY Stony Brook
8.) Iowa State University
9.) University of Cincinnati
10.) Penn State University (Regional Campus)
11.) Ohio State University (Regional Campus)
12.) Purdue University (Regional Campus)

I narrowed down my list, and come to like IU, ASU, UC- Boulder, and UMass-Amherst. I’m considering one of these schools from the list to attend. I’m looking for a great education, great social scene, good athletics, beautiful campus, always something to do.

Any thoughts on this would be great. Thank you for your time.

Is cost an issue? Net price at each?

Cost isn’t really an issue. The only school that would be an issue is Drexel, and thats $330k. I got into there BS/MBA + 3 co-op program, which is around $66k a year for 5 years. I don’t see myself going to Drexel for that reason. Every other school is okay.

You need to really like the heat to live at ASU. The high temps change the way people do things. Have you visited?

Where do you live now and how do you feel about distance/airfares/climate?
Do you want a school that has mostly in-staters or a school that has more students from all over?

Yeah you’re right. I have not visited the school yet, I would really like too. I wouldn’t mind the heat at ASU, but like I said I haven’t visited, so I wouldn’t really be sure. Thank you!

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have no preference for distance, although it’d be nice to live close to home. Climate: I’d like nice weather all year round. I prefer a school where its students from all over, not mostly in-staters.

IU is great! Bloomington is a great college town and its absolutely beautiful. It’s very liberal and there are lots of cool places to eat at. It has a great party scene, with the classic college experience. It also has a lot of intelligent people. Bloomington is basically the whole campus, IU’s presence is all over the place. Honestly, IU is hands down one is the most gorgeous schools ever.

When I visited campus, my tour guide took me to all the educational buildings and the main area. I really did like the brick pavement, and the atmosphere. After you leave the main area, and go past the gates of Indiana University, thats the part I didn’t visit. How is that area?

IU or Colorado-Bolder, but I believe IU has a very large Indiana population. Both are in fabulous college towns and both will give you the total college experience

Do you mean you didn’t see the actual town? If not, it’s one of the nicest college towns. It’s both cozy and vibrant if that makes sense.

I’m not a fan of the ASU campus, but the heat isn’t that bad during most of the school year, and everyone gets to go to class in shorts and flip-flops. Plus, 105 degrees in Phoenix is a lot more tolerable than 90 degrees in the Midwest and East.

My sister went to Indiana and loved it.

For Indiana University and Colorado Boulder, which school offers more opportunities for networking, business, internships, study abroad?

Which college town do you like better: CU Boulder or IU?

Okay thanks for the input @simba9 I’m gonna cross ASU off my list. Great advice, thank you!

Definitely cross off Drexel. 330K is outrageous.

I think Indiana University would be a great choice! UC Boulder is a good school too.
