Which School?? Theory vs Application???

Hi....im going to be a mechanical engineer....so far i have been accepted too:
Cal State Fullerton
Cal Poly Pomona

Applied to:
UCI
UCD
UCSD
UCSB
University of Arizona

A big question i have is about the schools teaching practices (theoretical vs practical). I know Fullerton is big on application based and its real hands on. I have heard Pomona is a mix of both. And i have heard UCs are theory. No idea about Arizona.
I fear that if i decide to go to a UC or somewhere that is very theoretical i will be bored. A reason why i want to be an engineer is for the practicality and hands on work.
Can you guys outline the teaching philosophies of each please? And some pros and cons? Thanks...

Also...looking at corse outlines, Arizona seems by far a lot easier of the programs. But i have heard degrees from california are more prestigious than those from arizona...nevada...etc...any truth to this claim?

anyone????? someone must have some input...it will be highly appreciated.

You didn't apply Cal Poly SLO?

Nope...i wasnt aware that SLO was the better cal poly, after i already got into pomona someone told me SLO is a better school. I figured it would be a waste to apply there after i already got into pomona.
