i think that im interested in applying to the international affairs school...
is it any harder/more competitive to get into if im applying regular decision?
would i be better off applying to college of arts & sciences and then transferring into the international affairs school?

I believe the EISA acceptance rate is about the same as CAS. The only way the acceptance rate is about the same while the admission standards are much higher is for EISA is, if the applicant pool of EISA comprised of students with much higher stats, meaning, self selection in terms of application. I doubt that is the case. So, my guess is, the difficulty of getting in is about comparable.

That said, nobody knows for sure since nobody has seen stats of the GW admitted students by the college.

[School of Public Health and Health Services is GW’s most selective school - News](http://media.www.gwhatchet.com/media/storage/paper332/news/2010/09/13/News/School.Of.Public.Health.And.Health.Services.Is.Gws.Most.Selective.School-3930412.shtml)

thanks for the info!
so i think its safe to apply to the elliot school and not be too worried

has anybody seen the GPA and SAT distribution by the college (CCAS, ESIA, etc) in GW? Or for that matter any university of college that admit students into separate colleges? This would be very useful data, but I have not seen any college/university that publish data like this…

Georgetown has the breakdown of the stats broken out by school, on their website. American publishes statistics broken out by school, but it’s a little harder to find. It’s in a publication they call the “academic data reference book.” It actually has statistics on applicants, admits, and matriculants but I don’t recall if they give that level of detail broken out by school or only the matriculants.

Deskpotato,

the AU data you mentioned has a great deal of info, all broken down by the college and by applicants vs. admits vs. enrollees.

Given that GWU and AU had fairly similar admit stats quoted by the schools for the class of 2014 (GWU average SAT out of 2400 =1950, AU average SAT out of 1600 = 1300. Exactly a match, proportionately speaking), so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the score distribution is also fairly similar.

So, definitely a great data source. Thank you!!!
