Which school to enter. Need some advise.

hello all !

Some background on what is completed so far.

24 credits from a CC with a GPA of 2.4
42 credits from ASU with a GPA of 4.0

Never taken SAT/ACT.

Been working full time with an NGO to do outreach work to the needy.

Looking to enter a college to finish up my studies. Cost won't be an issue since my employers are willing to foot the bill. But I'm hoping to enter a really good school to finish up my studies. I have an interest in Philosophy and political science/IR.

Anyone know of good/great schools that might take transfer students that let's me focus on either subject of interest ?
I've check UC (LA and SD), and their transfer rate seems very low. So I don't think I'll be trying for them.
Was looking at U Penn LPS, but I'm not sure how hard it would be to enter such a great school.
I'm hoping to apply into 4-5 schools (my safety school would be to apply back to ASU and finish up a degree). Intending to start in January 2015.

Any advice would be helpful !

Thank you.

Actually, UCLA and USC admit a lot of transfer students compared to other schools. Look at Penn’s LPS and Columbia’s General Studies, too. For IR, check out Georgetown, GWU, American U, Tufts.

I was considering UCLA and Penn LPS, but I’m not sure if I would stand a fighting chance with my GPA.

If your latest transcript is from ASU then the GPA that counts is that one. Your professional experience and recommendations will also be factored in.

I don’t see recommendations being used for transfers at UCLA. http://www.aim.ucla.edu/profiles/cds.aspx</a> (section D) But there is a higher GPA requirement for OOS students.
