If princeton hadn't accepted you...

Well, I guess Harvard? It sounds weird, but I turned Harvard down for Princeton (but I loved Harvard! I was sad to do it), so I guess it makes sense. But before I was accepted, my trifecta of top choices was Princeton/Harvard/MIT, then my second choice was Columbia.

Of the schools I applied to, Harvard. Of the schools I got in to, Stanford.

Mine would be Harvard then MIT

Of the schools that I applied to, probably MIT. Of the schools I was accepted to, either Michigan or UPenn

That doesn’t sound weird to me at all. For the undergraduate experience, I believe Princeton is stronger than Harvard all around. You can always go to Harvard (or Yale, or Stanford) for grad school.

Congratulations btw :)

Marsden: Thanks! Haha, I didn’t mean that it sounded weird that I turned Harvard down, but that it sounds weird to think of Harvard was a second choice, since it’s the #1 school for so many people. And I guess I didn’t apply thinking of it as a second choice; like I said, I hadn’t really decided between Princeton/Harvard/MIT at that time.

That’s how it goes–your average high-school valedictorian in Montana knows Harvard better than s/he knows Princeton, not to mention Williams or Swarthmore. But people who know, know. I often wonder how Harvard’s awesome selectivity stats would look otherwise!

of schools i got into, williams. i was seriously considering going there but pton’s financial offer was so much better. of schools i applied to, yale.

Duke or Stanford.

Of schools I applied to Harvard (yes, I know). Of the schools I got into…I was attempting to decide between MIT/Stanford/UPenn and Wash U’s USP program. But I’m really glad Princeton worked out!

I got into Harvard but I’m going to Princeton. If I hadn’t of gotten into either, I’d be going to The College of New Jersey or another affordable state school. Maybe Rutgers or Drew U.

Columbia would be second
Then Penn
Then Cornell
