If you had the choice between going to Indiana, Villanova, Boston C, or the College of New Jersey, which school would go to? You would want to go into finance.

Indiana, Boston College, Villanova, TCNJ. (in order).

For me, it would probably be Villanova, Boston College, TCNJ, Indiana

(I'm from NJ)

why Indiana after TCNJ and Villanova, especially for Finance?

Indiana (kelley), Nova, BC, TCNJ

can u guys also give a reason on why u go that university over the other?

None of these schools are even target schools (assuming you're after the more lucrative jobs in consulting and ibanking) so I would base my selection on the overall undergrad quality rather than preparation for a career in finance. My ranking would be BC > Nova > Indiana > CNJ.

Are these schools as competitive as schools like HYPW for IB jobs? No. Does that mean the quality of the finance program and finance-related job placement is irrelevant? No.

First, I should mention that if your goal is IB, go with Indiana(Kelley) and get in to the IB workshop. I hear they all get jobs in IB. Getting back to the subject of finance in general...

In terms of prestige for the finance program, Indiana>BC>Nova>TCNJ. I think BC and Nova are somewhat interchangeable for finance job placement, with Indiana having a slight edge.

I don't know too much about job recruitment for BC or TCNJ but Nova is starting to become noticed by recruiters. Indiana probably still has the upper hand because Kelley is a very well-known name in finance.

Does anyone know how hard it is to be accepted into the IB workshop?

BC > the other ones you listed (no particular order)

IB workshop is EXTREMLY competitive, only 33 students can get there (from 2000 or more students), so don’t count on this workshop. I think Kelly school is overrated, If you look at carrier placement you will ses that it is not the “semi-target” school at all.

In my opinion:
1BC
2 Villanova
3 Indiana
4 TCNJ

I will recommend you to look at each institutions site closely. Look at job placement statistics, how many companies recruit on campus, which companies recruit on campus and on what positions. No matter what people say about institutions you should look at the facts.

How do they choose who is accepted into the workshop?

Indiana easily #1. BC/Nova are pretty equal, but i'd pick Nova over BC.

can someone put it in order of difficulty to get in

Boston College, Villanova/TCNJ/Kelley (not Indiana..coz its other schools are crappy and really easy to get into) are about the same. I'm not so sure about Villanova though.

any other comments? What other ugrad business programs would you suggest?

quote are about the same

w t f?????

he is saying the business school is harder to get in than the other schools at iub

bump bump bump

Definitely BC but I heard their professor are really stingy, or that might be BostonU.
