Which school

I am planning on going into medical school after I finish my undergraduate degree(s), so I was just wondering if it would be more beneficial for me to apply to one school versus another. I was thinking about the WCAS or McCormick. Right now, I have listed that I'm applying to WCAS, but I wasn't sure if McCormick would be "better" for medicine (or, would it really matter since GPA and MCAT scores are among the more important factors for entering into medical school?). I also plan on applying for HPME, if that helps any at all. Thanks for any replies.

McCormick is the engineering school. Do you want to become an engineer? That should answer your question.

Well, you would probably take the same pre-med requirements anyway. From the perspective of HPME, fewer people probably apply to McCormick than Weinberg, but idk if that would help or anything. It depends on your prospective major.

Well, I've thought about engineering, but haven't been to sure of it. I know people who have done engineering as a major and have gone into med school (which is not uncommon). I was just wondering if any people who go into any one school has a higher chance to get into these top med schools (of course, for HPME, you don't have to take the MCAT b/c of that guaranteed first-year entry into the Feinberg school as long as your grades are high). I think I'll just stick with Weinberg. Most of my other friends who are thinking about med school are going into their schools' arts and sciences departments.

McCormick is harder than WCAS for medical school admissions (unless deep down you love the engineering curriculum and want to be an aspiring engineer).

McCormick has the least grade inflation.

Engineering courses tend to be more time-consuming so you would have less time to study orgo/bio than your classmates from WCAS (competitive disadvantage).

^yeah, disadvantage in terms of required courses and studying time for the MCAT, right?
