Many higher level colleges expect you to complete a certain number of credits on their campus. You would need to check the graduation requirements at the schools you are interested in. Also, it possibly does matter why. If you are transferring for poor grades, or you were dismissed for some reason, your options may be different than if you have good grades and are in good standing.

Dude, stop trolling. You’re not leaving Yale. That is if you even got accepted to be begin with.

Take a community college and never look back.

I’m not ■■■■■■■■.

I would not think of transferring a few days into the semester after pining after Yale for a year if I did not feel profoundly slighted.

My advice? Just rough it out. You have been given an incredible opportunity. I don’t feel like commenting anymore because this post is borderline absurd.

Nobody here can help you when they don’t know the issue, so you will have to make the decision yourself. My only advice is to go through with it. There have been a painful amount of “It’s my first week, I hate my college!!!” posts, because they step onto the campus and don’t give it a chance.

Oh wow. This may seem like a really stupid suggestion, but knowing you were one of a few Amherst/Williams transfers, I would contact their admissions offices and see if they would be willing to consider you again in the Spring. You could explain your reason for choosing Yale over them and then explain your dissatisfaction and extend on why you feel you’ve made a bad decision.

You seem smart, so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt others aren’t giving you and assume you want to transfer for reasons other than first week jitters.
