Which Schools did you turn down for Tufts?

Hey! Just curious, since many of us got into a lot of schools, which ones did you turn down for Tufts?

Moi...
University of Rochester, William & Mary. (I felt Tufts was simply a better overall school).

gtown, tulane, northwestern, emory

Berkeley (too big), Cornell (too big + isolated), Amherst (too small + isolated), UCSD, Vassar, Macalester, Boston University, George Washington University, USC (giving up a full ride scholarship... I hope my parents forgive me eventually).

Syracuse, Virginia Tech and their honors program, Penn State, University of CT, and Worcester Polytech

George Washington U, Dickinson, Loyola

nyu, uconn, columbia

Tulane, BC

Boston College, University of Michigan, Providence College

UCLA, UCSD, American ($18,000/yr), Occidental ($10,000), NYU ($13,000/yr)

turning down all that money was the most painful part of the decision-making for me (Tufts isn't giving me ANY money), but I'm so glad that I'm gonna be a Jumbo next year!!

BU and BC i turned down

BC 6700/yr, NYU 18 thou/yr BU 16 thou/yr

hi! i really need help! why do you lvoe tufts so much? i accepted tufts' offer of admission, but barnard just got me off their waitlist..where should i got-- i was gonna major in International Relations and minor in Media and Communications at Tufts....help!~

hi! i really need help! i thought since you mentioned columbia you know somehting about barnard and could help, i accepted tufts' offer of admission, but barnard just got me off their waitlist..where should i got-- i was gonna major in International Relations and minor in Media and Communications at Tufts....help!~

Well, for IR undergrad, Tufts is pretty much the place to be...if they're both giving comparable aid, I would go with Tufts.

tufts is way better than barnard, especially for IR

I'd agree. Both Barnard and Tufts are excellent universities, but for IR/IS, and pretty much anything humanities related, Tufts wins. Also, if you're looking for international careers (i.e. law, medicine, business, diplomacy, etc.) Tufts is much better known than Barnard (and is highly regarded). Congrats on being accepted @ both schools! They are both very selective!
